In this issue, we will discuss PMS and partner support.

Do you have an understanding of PMS?

For women, premenstrual syndrome is something they can't live without, and it is said to be so painful that it affects their daily lives.

Women who are married or in a relationship can rely on their partners, but some men may not understand PMS and may not be able to assist women in their daily lives. The research paper presented here investigates whether spousal support for PMS is useful in reducing symptoms. The research paper presented here investigated the question, "Is spousal support helpful in reducing PMS symptoms?

The Study

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of an educational intervention for spouses on the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome in women.

This quasi-experimental study involved 100 women of reproductive age with PMS who were referred to a health center in the city of Farabarjan in 2015.

The women were randomly divided into two groups as intervention and control.

An educational intervention on supportive behaviors to control premenstrual symptoms was administered to spouses during three educational sessions in the intervention group.

Data were obtained by self-administered questionnaires before and three months after the educational intervention and were analyzed by SPSS21 and appropriate statistical tests. The three post-intervention mounts showed a significant increase in spousal supportive behavior scores compared to the pre-educational intervention and control groups.

A significant decrease occurred in the case of physical and psychological behavioral symptoms in the women in the intervention group compared to before the intervention and control groups. (p <0.05)

Spouse's supportive behavior can reduce the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome in women. As a result, it is recommended that the health care system organize educational interventions to increase spousal supportive behavior.

Conclusion

Studies have suggested that educational interventions for PMS for spouses can be useful in reducing symptoms.

However, even when educational interventions are implemented, the results of this study may not hold true if the spouse does not exhibit "supportive behavior.

In fact, it may be beneficial for symptom reduction if the spouse engages in supportive behaviors even in the absence of educational interventions.

What is needed is emotional support," she said.

If you are wondering, "What exactly should I do to support my partner? If you are wondering what exactly you need to do to help, you should talk to your partner about it.
