DESCRIPTION
Stress maintained over time can result in malaise, known as burnout, which constitutes an occupational health problem and leads to high absenteeism.
This study used age, working hours, seniority, education level, malaise, personality, attitude towards driving, vehicle safety behavior, and work characteristics and content to develop a predictive model of burnout in professional drivers.
A total of 523 professional drivers from the transportation sector were included through non-probability sampling and analyzed using SPSS version 25.0.
The results determined the predictive ability of certain variables that cause burnout affecting drivers. The best predictors were fatigue (48.8%), professional efficiency with emotional stability (39.8%), and cynicism with lack of motivation (28%).
