This study will confirm and investigate the safety of Covid-19 vaccination during pregnancy.

Using data from the Norwegian Registry, a case-control study of early pregnancy, Covid-19 vaccination, background characteristics, and underlying health status was conducted.Women who had a miscarriage before 14 weeks' gestation enrolled between February 15 and August 15, 2021 (case patients) and Women with early pregnancy based on primary care (controls) were identified.

To begin with, vaccination during the first trimester is not recommended in Norway, except for women with potential risk conditions, but women who are unaware of their pregnancy may still be vaccinated in the first trimester.

We estimated odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals for Covid-19 vaccination within the 5-week and 3-week windows before miscarriage or pregnancy.

Results showed that among 13,956 pregnant women (5.5% of whom were vaccinated) and 4521 women in miscarriage (5.1% of whom were vaccinated), the median number of days between vaccination and miscarriage or confirmed pregnancy was 19 days.

Among women who had experienced a miscarriage, the adjusted odds ratio for Covid-19 vaccination was shown to be 0.91 for vaccination in the previous 3 weeks.

From these analyses, all available vaccine types, stratified according to the number of doses received, and sensitivity analyses restricted to health care providers, women who had at least 8 weeks of follow-up after pregnancy was confirmed were analyzed and investigated.

The results from this analysis show no evidence of an increased risk of early miscarriage after Covid-19 vaccination, adding to findings from other reports supporting Covid-19 vaccination during pregnancy.
