DESCRIPTION
Inspired by the similarity between protein sequences and musical notes, protein music is composed of amino acid sequences to popularize science and procure melodies.
In the continuous development of protein-to-music algorithms, the musicality of protein music is considered to be far behind that of human music.
Musicality may be enhanced by fine-tuned protein-to-music mappings to specific musical style features.
In my research, I analyzed features of musical styles (Fantasy-Impromptu styles) and used quantized musical features to guide a broad survey of different amino acid properties (104 properties, sequence patterns, and variations) to develop a new protein-to-music algorithm.
The algorithm was applied to 18 proteins of different biological functions.
The derived musical compositions showed consistently enhanced musicality compared to existing protein music, and it was noted that music style-guided exploration of diverse amino acid properties could lead to protein music compositions with enhanced musicality that could be applied to a wider range of musical styles
