Explanation
This study attempted to examine the relationship between marital satisfaction, number of children, and moderators.
The data for this study was taken from a publicly available dataset and included 7178 married individuals from 33 countries and territories.
The results show that the number of children is a significant negative predictor of marital satisfaction. The results also showed no interaction by gender, education, or religion, and no interaction with economic status or individual level of individualistic values. It also explains why women are more likely than men to experience a decline in marital satisfaction. This is explained by the fact that in many households, women are more likely to take care of their children while men are more likely to engage in activities such as playing with their children.
