Do you have a preferred style that is limited to men?
It may sound rude coming from a woman, but I wonder if there is a connection between a man's preferred style and stress. This is a hypothesis that has been researched.
Men's style preferences may be determined by stress! So, please take a look.
The study
A study of 81 stressed men aged 18-42.
Forty-one men in the intervention group were asked to undergo an interview, give a speech, or otherwise experience stress, while the 40 men in the control group were asked to wait in a separate room.
The men in both groups were then asked to look at pictures of ten women, with a variety of styles. After viewing the photos of the women, they were asked to rate the women on a 9-point scale. The results showed that the stressed men rated women with a normal to high BMI as more attractive, and this was significant compared to the control group.
There was no significant difference between the two groups in their ratings of women with lower BMIs.

Conclusion
Since modern society is full of stress, it has been suggested that when we are under stress, our survival instincts lead us to prefer the opposite sex who seems to have high survival potential. Is this true for all men? It depends on the age group and country, but these theories may have a point.
