Scientific basis for the treatment of "stuttering" caused by sickle cell disease

In this article, we will discuss the treatment of stuttering and persistent erectile dysfunction caused by sickle cell disease.

Sickle cell disease is a hereditary anemia caused by abnormal red blood cells with a sickle shape that clog blood vessels and cause various symptoms. The epidemiology is that it is more likely to occur in the black race, and the most common symptoms are jaundice and organ damage.Stuttering and persistent erections are also among the symptoms, and the study you refer to targeted drug treatment and examined the evidence.

The study

This is a review of three trials involving 102 participants in Jamaica, Nigeria, and the UK.In the trials, four different drug treatments were compared to placebo.

Stilbestrol

Sildenafil

Ephedrine

Ethylevulin

All trials looked at whether the treatments reduced the frequency with which attacks of persistent erectile dysfunction occurred. There was no difference in any of the treatments compared to placebo.Due to the lack of high quality evidence, it is not possible to conclude the best treatment for persistent erectile dysfunction in sickle cell disease.

Reviewer's Conclusion

There is no evidence on the benefits or risks of different treatments for both stuttering and fulminant persistent erectile dysfunction in sickle cell disease. This systematic review has clearly identified the need for well-designed, well-capable, multicenter randomized controlled trials to evaluate the effectiveness of specific interventions for persistent erectile dysfunction in sickle cell disease.

Conclusion

These are diseases that have been described in journals as occurring almost exclusively in blacks, but in these days of lowered borders, it is possible to encounter these diseases.Anemia, pain, and acute chest syndrome also occur, so I am writing this article to keep this disease in the forefront of my mind.
