management

In this issue, we will discuss stress in the workplace and education for managers.

It is no longer uncommon for people to suffer from related illnesses due to stress in the workplace.I have experienced this myself, and I still remember how shocked I was when I noticed abnormalities in the color of my feces due to stress. The causes of stress in the workplace vary from person to person, and the diseases that develop vary as well. The number of people suffering from these diseases is increasing year by year, and in the European Union, it was reported that about 22% of diseases are caused by stress. In order to change the causes of such troubling stress, what happens if we educate the people who manage the workplace? Here is a review of the study.

The Studies

The review is based on 21 studies, involving a total of 3,479 employees.

In 16 studies, employees received leadership training aimed at improving supervisor-employee interactions either off the job (9) or on the job (7).

Five studies trained employees on how to set up the work environment, two studies were off-the-job and three were on-the-job.

Twenty-one studies compared 23 interventions with no training, sham training, or other training at follow-up.

When compared to the no training group, the results suggested no effect of gaining leadership training on employee stress or absenteeism.Inconsistent evidence was found that leadership training may or may not improve employee well-being when compared to no training. We were unable to calculate the impact of training on employee well-being because data were missing from two studies. When compared to placebo training, leadership gain training has no effect on employee stress, or absenteeism status.Due to missing data from one study, we were unable to calculate the impact of training on employee well-being.One study that evaluated leadership gain training compared to another type of training to reduce employee stress did not provide sufficient data to calculate its effect.

Reviewer's conclusion

Based on a small and heterogeneous sample of controlled intervention studies, we found inconsistent evidence that supervisor training may or may not improve employee well-being, in contrast to the general consensus that supervisor behavior affects employee health and well-being. Interventions. For all other types of interventions and outcomes, we found no evidence of substantial effects. However, because of the very low to moderate quality of the evidence base, no clear conclusions are currently warranted. Well-designed studies are needed to determine the effects of supervisor training on employee stress, absenteeism, and well-being.

Conclusion

In this review, we have described "training for gaining leadership", which precisely refers to human resource management training. It is also called HRM (Human Resource Management), and it is not something that is done specifically, but is the job of the HR department or other department that manages human resources. As I mentioned in my comment, the quality of the evidence makes it unclear whether the fact that this intervention was subtle is similar to the actual results, and is not a reason to reject HRM.In all of this, I never met a person who was personally adapted to be a leader, and most of the people I met showed glimpses of knots where everyone seemed to be pursuing their own personal interests. If you talked to them for a while, they would give you the kind of pep talk you've learned at some self-help seminar, but in such a workplace, I was stressed out.I can't take everything on faith, but I would like to have a workplace with a boss who listens to my requests and is willing to discuss things with me.

There are some psychological studies that show that good leadership is partly innate, but it can also be managed through training.
